My Website Design: A Journey Towards Simplicity and Clarity

Designing my own website was a unique challenge — unlike client projects where there’s a specific brief or target audience, here I had the freedom to explore what truly felt right for me, while also thinking about who might visit and how I wanted them to feel. I knew from the start that I wanted something simple and clean, but simplicity can mean many things, so I explored quite a few directions before landing where I am now. You can see some of the alternative designs I considered. One, in particular, leans heavily into a gaming-inspired style, with bold colors and energetic visuals. While I enjoyed experimenting with that direction, I ultimately decided it wasn’t the right fit for me. It felt a bit exclusive — almost like it was speaking to a very specific audience, mostly younger gamers. I wanted my website to be welcoming to everyone, regardless of age or background. Inclusivity was really important to me. Another important decision I made was to keep the site small and straightforward. There are only a few pages, and the navigation is intentionally easy to follow. I wanted visitors to get a clear sense of who I am and what I do without feeling overwhelmed by too many options or complicated forms. There’s no pricing section, no long contact forms — just a simple way to reach out if you want to learn more. Sometimes, less really is more, and in this case, simplicity was key to making the experience feel natural and approachable. This process wasn’t just about picking colors or layouts; it was about understanding what I want my space on the web to represent. I wanted to share who I am and what I do in the most honest and approachable way possible. It was also a good reminder that design is as much about what you leave out as what you include. I hope this glimpse into my design journey helps you connect with the work I create and the thought I put into every project.
